Sumida River Cruise, Eitai Bashi 永代橋

This is “Eitai bashi”.

This bridge used to be suffered from numbers of tragedies such as dropped bridge, Eitaibashi was completed in 1926 as a part of the Great Kanto Earthquake Reconstruction Project.

There is a popular true story of “The Loyal 47 Ronin Samurai (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers)” of approximately 300 years ago, and It is said that famous 47 Ronin Samurai crossed the first Eitaibashi bridge after the raid of KIRA's mansion.

Eitai bashi Bridge, which is beautiful and mannish designed as if paired with the upstream Kiyosu bashi Bridge, was designated as an important cultural property of Japan in 2007 together with Kiyosu bashi Bridge.

「永代橋（えいたいばし）」です。

今からおよそ300年前、かの有名な赤穂浪士たちが吉良邸討ち入りの後、初代のこの橋を渡ったとされています。

かつては落橋事故など数々の悲劇に見舞われた永代橋は、1926年、大正15年に関東大震災復興事業として完成しました。

上流の清洲橋と対を成すような、男性的で力強いデザインの永代橋は、清洲橋とともに2007年、平成19年に国の重要文化財に指定されています。
